TECHNICIAN ENGINEER member of ASSET

Membership fee: GBP35.00 A person having undergone formal training, with extensive field experience in the service and repair of diving equipment and holding a suitable national qualification in engineering maintenance.
 

Pre-requisites: Hold the ASSET Advanced Technician grade

and

Hold the ASSET Nitrox Technicians Certificate

and

Hold the ASSET Cylinder Testers Certificate

and

Have documented proof of at least three years field experience as a Diving Technician or One year as a Diving technician and two years in a practical engineering based occupation

and

Pass the ASSET Technician Engineers Exam.

Level of responsibility: May undertake all areas of diving equipment service, repair, testing and gas blending.  Supervise technical staff and all aspects of workshop activity

Notes :

1.  Individual Technician Engineers will be invited to serve on ASSET Technical Working Parties

2. The Technician Engineer holds all the certification required to fulfill the role of Senior Technician in an IDEST approved centre in accordance with ASSET CP1, 2, 3 & 4
